Sanguinius, known as the "Great Angel," was the Primarch of the Blood Angels Space Marine Legion. Regarded as the noblest and mightiest among the Primarchs, he was widely beloved across the Imperium. His charisma, humility, and unwavering loyalty to the Emperor even unto death have earned him enduring reverence well into the 41st millennium.

What set Sanguinius apart from his brothers were the magnificent wings gracing his back—whether designed by the Emperor or caused by Baal's intense radiation remains unknown. He was also gifted with psychic abilities, particularly in foreseeing the future. Using these powers, Sanguinius led the tribes of Baal to victory against mutant hordes that vastly outnumbered them. While known for his loyalty and kindness toward his people, he was a terror on the battlefield, his wrath striking fear into any who threatened his kin.
