The original Phoenix Crown was forged in the age of Aenarion, crafted from the gold and gems of all ten kingdoms of Ulthuan. Yet it was the reckless and impulsive Caledor II who became the first—and last—Phoenix King to wear it into battle.
After he fell in duel against the Dwarf High King Gotrek Starbreaker, the crown passed into the hands of the Dwarfs as a trophy of war. When Caradryel the Peacemaker ascended the throne, the new Phoenix King decreed that any future crown must carry a sacred prohibition: No ruler of Ulthuan shall ever again bring the symbol of Asur sovereignty onto the field of war.
The current Phoenix Crown was crafted by the Priests of Vaul over a full century. It carries within it the history and glory of the ten kingdoms—and the hard lessons born of ancient strife.
